The company is particularly focused on supporting local first responders, military personnel, avid shooters and passionate Texas hunters. They offer assistance in sourcing what you need, without judgment or personal opinions.

When our founder moved to the Temple area from a law enforcement agency in South Texas, he encountered a significant challenge: finding a local FFL (Federal Firearms Licensee) that could supply the firearms and ammunition necessary for both law enforcement and hunting. At the time, the available options were either shops specializing in traditional firearms, like high-end over-and-under shotguns and bolt-action rifles with some basic pistols, or a few shops offering high-end tactical firearms and custom works. This gap in the market sparked an idea, and with thorough research and dedicated effort, Armored Boar Gunworks LLC was born at a kitchen table.

From these humble beginnings, Armored Boar Gunworks LLC has experienced remarkable growth. Initially operating from a 500 square foot shop in a barn, we have expanded significantly. Today, we are proud to supply not only numerous law enforcement agencies but also farmers, ranchers, gun enthusiasts, target shooters, competitors, and self-defense minded Americans.

Jonathon McGinley’s extensive background in law enforcement spanning over 23 years has uniquely equipped him with a wealth of experience and skills. His roles as a Tactical K-9 and Firearms Instructor, Range Master, and Law Enforcement Instructor have provided him with specialized knowledge in critical areas of firearms, tactical operations, and training methodologies.

These diverse roles not only honed his expertise in handling firearms but also equipped him with the leadership and instructional capabilities necessary to impart knowledge effectively. His career trajectory culminated in founding Armored Boar Gunworks LLC, where he can apply his extensive experience and passion for firearms to provide specialized services and products tailored to the needs of firearms enthusiasts, professionals, and law enforcement agencies alike.
